Program Overview
The Master’s in Higher Education (MHE) program is designed for individuals who wish to advance their knowledge and skills while working within higher education settings. The program is offered in a flexible online format. This is a part-time program. Students taking the normal load of two courses per semester complete the program in 1 year and 8 months.
Program Learning Outcomes
At the end of the program, students will be able to:

comprehend relevant historical, organizational, governance, financial, diversity, policy, campus environments, and other contemporary issues concerning higher education.

Admission Requirements
A portfolio that includes a goal statement, transcripts of all previous post-secondary coursework, and three letters of recommendation. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is not required. Ohio University employees must apply early to allow time to complete the university’s conflict of interest review.
International Students
This program does not permit full-time enrollment in residence at Ohio University, and an I-20 cannot be issued based on admission to this program.
Graduation Requirements
Complete a minimum of 30 credit hours as follows:
