Program Overview
The Master of Social Science (M.S.S.) is ideal for teachers who want to study content in the social sciences and is beneficial for public administrators and other professionals, too. While many master’s degree programs in social sciences include study of teaching methods, Ohio University’s interdisciplinary program focuses on social science content across multiple fields of study. These include, but are not limited to: history, geography, political science, sociology, anthropology, economics, and women’s, gender & sexuality studies. Our program’s online format allows for optimal accessibility and flexibility, while bringing together students from diverse backgrounds. Students who take 2, four-hour courses per term can complete the program in 18 months.
