Program Overview

The Project Management major is a two-year bachelor’s degree completion program in the Department of Engineering Technology and Management. This online program is for individuals with a completed associate degree leading to a Bachelor of Science (B.S.P.M.) in Project Management from the Russ College of Engineering and Technology, a minor in Business from the College of Business at Ohio University, and a Certificate in Lean Six Sigma Methods. This Project Management bachelor degree completion program is focused on enabling students to be able to develop comprehensive project management plans and documentation, control projects, and lead change in an organization. It is expected that students will also be able to execute projects related to improving an organization’s operations to be efficient and effective in meeting company and customer requirements. Students will also learn about Agile project management approaches and which project management tools to use in specific situations.

Students who wish to pursue the Bachelor of Science in Project Management prior to earning an associate degree are encouraged to reach out to the program director to seek an advising session for a personalized degree plan.

Admissions Information

Freshman/First-Year Admission

The student must have completed an associate degree. The program follows Ohio University Transfer credit policy: www.ohio.edu/admissions/transfer-credits.

Change of Program Policy

The student must have completed an associate degree. Students must have a GPA greater than 2.0 for all courses at Ohio University, for all courses in Russ College, and for all courses in the project management major. Students who wish to pursue the Bachelor of Science in Project Management prior to earning an associate degree are encouraged to reach out to the program director to seek an advising session for a personalized degree plan.

External Transfer Admission

University admission requirements and the student must have completed an associate degree. The program follows Ohio University Transfer credit policy: www.ohio.edu/admissions/transfer-credits. This program will provide opportunities for field advancement to a wide range of alumni who hold a diverse range of associate degrees. Requirements  

Universitywide Graduation Requirements


Ohio University requires the completion of a minimum of 120 semester hours for the conferral of a bachelor’s degree. This program can be completed within that 120-hour requirement. Major Hour Requirements


The Project Management program requires 28 hours of OU ETM credit after transferring into ETM, with at least 16 hours at or above the 3000 level.

Business Minor Course Requirements


All Business minor requirements must be met including a 2.0 GPA in the required Business minor classes.

Free Electives


Transfer in (from associate program) or complete 40 hours of free electives in order to satisfy the 120-hour major requirement.

Transfer credit from Associate Degree


Students must have completed an associate degree. At least 40 credit hours will transfer from the student’s associate degree and possibly more, but additional course credit transfer evaluation will occur with the student’s application to the program.
