OCOM 8226 - Elective - Psychology This elective integrates biomedical, social, osteopathic, clinical, and health systems science into the clinical learning environment. Students apply foundational concepts through faculty- and learner-directed study, reinforced by clinical experiences while on a psychology rotation. Students collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to gain experience in the assessment and management of behavioral and mental health conditions.
Credit Hours: 2-40

- Students will be able to describe common psychiatric conditions and their clinical presentations.
- Students will be able to apply principles of psychiatric assessment and diagnosis in clinical settings.
- Students will be able to describe pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic treatment modalities.
