C S 238 - Introduction to Computer Systems Computer structure, machine language, instruction execution, addressing techniques, and digital representation of data. Computer systems organization, logic design, microprogramming, and interpreters. Symbolic coding and assembly systems, macro definition and generation, and program segmentation and linkage. Systems and utility programs, programming techniques, and recent developments in computing. Several computer projects to illustrate basic machine structure and programming techniques. Prerequisites: C S 240B OR 231
Credit Hours: 5 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken three times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
