EDMC 330 - Teaching Mathematics in Middle Childhood Grades Familiarizes preservice educators with the mathematics curriculum of grades 4-9 and with instructional techniques appropriate for the delivery of the curriculum. Provides a solid foundation in teaching and learning applied to mathematics, complemented by rich experiences in working with students in actual school settings. Designed to extend preservice teachers’ understanding of mathematical content and methodology so that mathematics instruction is seen in terms of active students making appropriate use of technology in learning math as a relevant and coherent body of knowledge that relates to diverse cultures. The course is designed to be taken concurrently with middle childhood lab course. Prerequisites: EDMC 300 & ADM TO ADV STAN IN PROF EDUC & 2.75 GPA
Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken one time excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
