EDMC 350 - Teaching Social Studies in Middle Childhood Grades The foundation of social studies is to help students develop new understandings of the world through discourse and activities that emphasize applications to authentic issues of human society. Problem solving, critical thinking and analysis, negotiation and collaboration are part of the teaching of social studies content. Using national and state standards, course emphasizes integrated social studies for curriculum organization in grades 4-9. Prerequisites: EDMC 300 & ADM TO ADV STAN IN PROF EDUC & 2.75 GPA
Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
