EDSP 473 - The Nature and Needs of Learners with Moderate to Intensive Educational Needs Analyses of etiologies, characteristics, and assessment of learners with mental retardation, physical and sensory impairments, medical and behavioral disabilities. Medical, behavioral, social, communicative, assistive devices, psychosocial aspects, legal, ethical, cultural, family, self-determination, and advocacy issues are studied in relation to the characteristics and needs of learners from birth to adulthood with moderate to intensive educational needs. Prerequisites: (C OR BETTER IN EDTE 200 & 201 & 202) & EDCT 203 & ADMISSION TO ADVANCED STANDING IN EDUCATION & 2.75 GPA
Credit Hours: 5 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken one time excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
