EDEC 4300 - Authentic Assessment in Early Childhood Education Addresses documenting and assessing children’s cognitive and academic learning and their social, emotional, and physical development. Introduces a variety of observational strategies for data collecting as well as strategies for compiling, summarizing, interpreting and ethically using assessment information for authentic assessment. Knowledge of both authentic and formal assessment and issues involved in such assessments explored.
Requisites: EDEC 2001 and 2300 and 3300 and 3400 and 3500 or concurrent and admission to the ECE program Credit Hours: 3.0 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
