NURS 1210 - Adult Health I: ADN The focus of this first of three medical surgical courses is to introduce the student to the scope and practice of medical-surgical nursing. Emphasizes pathophysiological disturbances and related nursing skills. Introduces to and practice safe administration of medications. Learned skills may be applied in the clinical setting under the supervision of the clinical instructor. Validates prior learning, updates and enhances student’s knowledge of nursing, continues the process of role transition, and prepares the student to progress in the associate degree nursing program.
Requisites: NURS 1110 and 1130 and (1220 concurrent) and BIOS 1300 and (1310 concurrent) and CHEM 1210 and (PSY 1010 concurrent) Credit Hours: 7 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
