PHYS 2052H - General Physics for Physics and Astronomy Majors First course in general physics for physics and astronomy majors, with emphasis on interactive learning methods. Lecture and laboratory components are combined into a single course, so students are not required to sign up for a separate lab class. Topics to be covered are: traveling waves, standing waves, interference of waves, optics including reflection and refraction, electric forces, electric field, electric potential, electric current, electronic circuits, magnetic field, induction, and electromagnetic waves.
