MUS 4700 - History of Film Music This course traces the history and development of film music through lecture, reading and film viewing/music listening- investigating the process of film scoring and how music and its relationship to film have changed over the last century. The emphasis will be on how different composers, in their unique historical/cultural contexts, contribute to the emotional and psychological subtext of a narrative through music and the musical vocabularies that are part of the scoring for film process.
