CE 8530 - Environmental Geotechnology II Addresses the technical and practical engineering issues of containment of wastes and restoration of contaminated and/or disturbed portions of the geoenvironment.
Requisites: CE 6530 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to design active contaminant control/containment systems.
- Students will be able to design passive contaminant control/containment systems.
- Students will be introduced to both theoretical and practice sides of soil erosion (universal soil loss equation, other theories, modeling, control).
- Students will learn advanced concepts related to SPT and CPT Techniques.
- Students will learn more about geosynthetics (types, properties, application cases).
- Students will review of fundamentals of environmental geotechnology.
