CHE 5400 - Advanced Topics in Materials Science and Engineering
Structure, processing, and applications of ceramics, polymers, and composites. Corrosion and degradation of materials. Electrical, thermal, optical, and magnetic properties of materials. Materials selection and design.

- The student will be able to articulate the effect of materials extraction, use, and disposal on the environment.
- The student will be able to articulate the types and potential advantages of the latest developments in materials technology.
- The student will be able to identify the major classes of materials and the particular properties.
- The student will be able to identify ways in which the various classes of materials can be processed and combined to achieve desirable properties.
