EDHE 7820 - Effective Curriculum Development and Teaching Practices in American Higher Education Critical study of factors, theories, and practices involved in the development of higher education curriculum and teaching. The creation, implementation, and revision of programs, courses, and classes is discussed and related to effective teaching and learning in different settings.
Requisites: EDHE 7800 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 1.0 lecture, 2.0 seminar Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,CR,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will examine and differentiate theories concerning curricular development in American higher education.
- Students will examine ways to improve students’ understanding of course and class content through alternative forms of teaching.
- Students will explore the impact of technology, fluctuating resources, and changing demographics on the development of programs, courses, and teaching.
- Students will learn about methods for the assessment of programs, courses, classroom activities, and learning outcomes.
- Students will understand the influence of external and internal factors on the development of effective programs, courses, and classes.
