ENG 7960 - Rhetorical Traditions and Theories Relates classical rhetorical theory to developments in contemporary rhetorical theory, criticism, practice, methodology, and pedagogy.

- Examine critically rhetorical traditions as they arise out of the classical age.
- Relate theories and traditions of rhetoric to current writing pedagogy.
- Understand differences between concepts such as rhetorical histories and histories of rhetoric.
- Understand some of the issues and problems in historicizing rhetorical traditions.
