ENG 7990 - Research Methods in Rhetoric and Composition Provides an introduction to a range of empirical methods for the study of writer’s products, processes, and social contexts.
Requisites: Graduate Standing Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - develop a clear understanding of research methods and designs and their advantages and disadvantages
- develop the ability to design and carry out a pilot-study
- develop the ability to read and evaluate empirical research using the appropriate criteria
- develop the ability to write a research report using the appropriate conventions.
- enable students to select research methods most appropriate for pursuing their own research questions
