EXPH 5140 - Physiology of Exercise Fundamental concepts and application of organ systems responses to exercise; special reference to skeletal muscle metabolism, energy expenditure, cardiorespiratory regulation, and training and environmental adaptations.

Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,CR,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will describe the application of exercise for weight control, and in the treatment of diabetes, cardiovascular and other hypokinetic diseases.
- Students will describe the hormonal, metabolic, muscular, cardiovascular, and respiratory responses to acute exercise and their adaptations to exercise training.
- Students will describe the roles of nutrition and ergogenic aids in exercise performance and training.
- Students will describe the storage, mobilization, and utilization of metabolic fuels at rest and during exercise.
