FILM 5060 - Technical Toolbox II

Further instruction in the use of various kinds of camera, lighting, and sound equipment. Further practical exploration of the skills required on documentary and narrative film sets.

Requisites: Film major
Credit Hours: 1 - 4
Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 4.0 hours.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 lecture, 2.0 laboratory
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,CR,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:
  • Further development of light metering skills.
  • Greater understanding of sound recording equipment and techniques for acquiring good sound.
  • Greater understanding of and proficiency with grip and electric equipment.
  • Greater understanding of lighting for film.
  • Greater understanding of motion picture and video camera systems.
