FILM 5810 - Digital Editing I


An introduction to digital nonlinear editing techniques and system(s) covering the post-production workflow from logging of footage through capture, editing, and output.

Requisites: Film major
Credit Hours: 1 - 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 3.0 hours.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 lecture, 2.0 laboratory

Learning Outcomes:
  • Be capable of using basic digital non-linear system.
  • Developing editing proficiencies through prescribed editing exercises.
  • Greater understanding of the art/craft of editing (e.g., pacing, eye track, match cutting, and jump cutting).
  • Understanding of digital nonlinear editing workflow.
