FR 5210 - French for Graduate Reading Requirements III Part of a two-semester, second-year language sequence for graduate students. Emphasis is on intermediate development of reading, listening comprehension, speaking, and writing skills, along with mid-level proficiency in grammatical concepts and patterns. Textbook and workbook are required. Registered graduate students attend a section of a second-year undergraduate course; grading for graduates is CR/F, with the grade of CR given for work deemed to be of “D-” level or above. Work below that level will receive an F.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 1 - 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 8.0 hours. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: F,CR,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - The successful student demonstrates knowledge of various characteristics of the French and/or Francophone world as they relate to history, politics, everyday life, kinship, etc.
- The successful student develops and applies reading strategies to interpret various types of uncomplicated, authentic written texts.
- The successful student engages in authentic oral communicative exchanges to provide, obtain, and interpret information.
- The successful student writes short, simple compositions, descriptions, or requests for information with attention to grammatical structures and sentence structures.
