GEOG 5610 - Cartography II Introduction to dynamic digital cartographic design. Theory and practice of geovisualization through animated and interactive maps developed in weekly readings, discussion, exercises, and final project.

Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture, 2.0 laboratory, 1.0 research Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will acquire a new mapping tool to identify and express geographical interrelationships, patterns, and stories.
- Students will be able to critique other cartographic animations in the context of the literature.
- Students will be able to discuss and define the major issues in dynamic cartography today.
- Students will feel comfortable exploring the capabilities of new mapping software on their own.
- Students will have the skills to assemble an interactive animated map in Flash.
