HIST 5870 - European Intellectual and Cultural, 18th-20th- Centuries Intellectual and cultural trends from the Enlightenment to the beginning of the 20th- century. Themes include economic liberalism, philosophical liberalism, revolution, romanticism, nationalism, philosophy of history, Marxism, Nietzsche, racism, Antisemitism, Social Darwinism, interpretive sociology, and comparative history.
