INST 6911 - Special Topics in Advanced Southeast Asian Languages and Literature Serves as a 3rd- year Southeast Asian language study. Complete intermediate level of appropriate language as approved by instructor.
Requisites: Permission required Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 8.0 hours. Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,CR,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Be able to share, express and convey their opinions, through discussion or written exchanges in Southeast Asian language, on what they have recently read or seen in various authentic sources such as articles, short stores, comics, and movies.
- Be able to understand and analyze the main ideas and significant details of materials in Southeast Asian languages such as magazine articles, news papers, short stories, poetry, films, and plays illustrative of Southeast Asian cultural issues.
- Enable conversational fluency, comprehensive knowledge of grammar, and increased facility in reading and writing skills.
- Understand Southeast Asian literature and be able to undertake surveys on cultural topics and advanced grammar.
