Learning Outcomes:
  • Account for the effect of chemical equilibrium and dissociation on reaction thermodynamics and combustion kinetics.
  • Determine combustion thermodynamics, such as flame temperature.
  • Determine techniques of spectroscopy through application of statistical thermodynamics.
  • Identify applications of quantum mechanics to real systems.
  • Perform calculations to balance reactions.
  • Use software such as EES to perform combustion calculations.
  • Utilize statistical thermodynamics to predict properties.
