IHS 5301 - The Health Policy Making Process Elaborating on the processes required for health policy making from conception to evaluation. Emphasizing the contrast of roles, perceptions of, and impact on individuals versus organizations; with a vested interest in the policy positions.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - The student will be able to contrast the emphases on individuals versus organizations in the health policy making process
- The student will be able to describe the context of the health policy making process
- The student will be able to identify the key differences in the role of the state versus private sector stakeholders on the health policy making processes
- The student will be able to identify the key differences of the impact on state versus private sector stakeholders in the health policy making processes
- The student will be able to identify intended versus unintended outcomes from the implementation of a health policy
- The student will be able to describe the key concepts in evaluating the efficacy of health policy outcomes
