MGT 5032 - Performance Management & Total Rewards In today’s globally competitive environment, organizations are more focused than ever on delivering measurable results - at an enterprise, business unit, team, and individual level. Performance, compensation and benefit systems are critical to attracting, motivating, and rewarding highly talented employees. Developing a comprehensive, effective performance management and reward system is a critical Human Resource imperative.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to describe the motivational forces behind performance management and total rewards
- Students will be able to explain the importance of aligning the goals and performance of each unit, team, and employee to the company’s strategic objectives, as well as to other HR practices
- Students will be able to identify different types of performance appraisal systems
- Students will be able to describe how to establish and communicate objectives and performance standards
- Students will be able to conduct a performance appraisal feedback session
- Students will be able to demonstrate how to coach for employee development
- Students will be able to define a clear and credible basis for merit increases and incentive awards
- Students will be able to describe an effective compensation and benefit design and administration process
- Students will be able to describe how to utilize performance results to build talent pipelines
