MGT 5061 - Cross-Cultural Management and Management of Global Talent American business is international business; one third of the U.S. corporate profits are generated abroad. Yet billions of potential business dollars are lost every year because we ignore the expectations of people in foreign cultures, and the way that they do business. This course provides a framework for understanding cross cultural differences and using such knowledge in developing country specific management practices and policies. Moreover, it provides a guide for dealing with managerial issues associated with cross national environments, organizational design and adaptation, as well as those concerns of developing global talent, social responsibility and ethical behavior.

Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to cultural differences along with the ability to work with people from different cultural backgrounds.
- Students will be able to display a broad overview of the factors underlying effective leadership and management in cross-national and cross-cultural business contexts.
- Students will be able to assess the experiences of managers in adapting to and performing effectively within different nations and regions of the world.
- Students will be able to illustrate how to incorporate ethical principles, personal and organizational values and socially responsible practices in global management.
- Students will be able to discuss the concepts, techniques, and knowledge useful for effective development of global talent.
