MFE 6944 - Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice This course is based on the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct (Code and Standards) that CFA Institute members or CFA Program candidates are required to follow. High ethical standards are critical to maintaining the public’s trust in financial markets and in the investment profession. This course examines the inter-connectedness of the aspirational and practical principles and provisions of the Code and Standards. It also teaches students how to apply the ethical decision-making framework according to the complex ethical requirements in relation to the investment industry.
Requisites: MFE 6230, 6500 Credit Hours: 1 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 1.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to describe the code of ethics required for professionals in the financial services industry.
- Students will be able to apply the code of ethics in ethical decision-making situations using case studies and problem-solving examples.
