MFE 6945 - Financial Research Report

This course prepares students to work with large financial data sets and trains them to prepare a professional quality financial research report under the supervision of a faculty member.

Requisites: MFE 6110, 6220, 6230, 6390, 6440, 6500
Credit Hours: 2
Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to analyze large data sets with commonly used data analytics software.
  • Students will be able to prepare a professional quality financial analyst report.
  • Students will be able to use data analysis tools to assess the value and prospects of a company.
  • Students will be able to present data in a variety of visual formats.
  • Students will be able to write about and discuss various management styles and identify strong and weak leadership
  • Students will be able to formulate a well-thought, well-documented opinion about a company’s prospects
  • Students will be able to present opinions and research to a sophisticated group of analysts
