CAS 5720 - Data Visualization and Communication This course offers students a project-based approach that provides a framework for developing and managing data-centered projects from inception to formal presentation. Emphasis is placed on written and visual communication of results for decision-makers. Projects are self-identified and the selection of research questions, data sets, and analytic techniques are critical to the final product.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to identify a substantive question or problem that can be addressed by analysis of publicly available data.
- Students will be able to apply principles of data analysis and statistical approaches to reach valid findings.
- Students will be able to communicate quantitative findings to decision-makers both visually and in writing.
