COMS 4410 - Communication in the Family Examination of the communication concepts basic to understanding interaction in the family. Provides a framework for analysis of family communication. Explores communication issues that relate to family interaction, including conflict, power, intimacy, and the development of relationships. Presents a model of effective communication in the family. Consideration of verbal and nonverbal communication behaviors.
Requisites: COMS 1010 or C or better in 2060 and (Jr or Sr) Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. - Examine concepts and methodologies that have been used to look at communication within the family.
