CSD 1070 - Voice and Articulation Addresses the recognition and evaluation of voice and articulation to improve speaking and listening skills.
Credit Hours: 3 OHIO BRICKS Bridge: Speaking and Listening Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to evaluate the voice quality and vocal health of a speaker.
- Students will be able to identify basic anatomy and physiology and how it relates to speaking, listening, voice quality, and vocal health.
- Students will be able to identify and use techniques for effective articulation.
- Students will be able to use vocal variety (pitch, loudness) to engage listeners.
- Students will be able to describe diversity in pitch, loudness, and intonation with respect to individual and/or cultural identities.
- Students will be able to organize and deliver speeches and presentations on selected topics.
