CSD 2530 - Hearing Science Physiological and psychological aspects of sound and measurement of human hearing, including sound transmission and analysis, electrophysiology of the ear, and psychoacoustics.
Requisites: CSD 2130 and (MATH 1200 or Math placement level 2 or higher) Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to describe principal signal processing mechanisms involved in the perception of sound.
- Students will be able to determine and calculate basic units of sound.
- Students will be able to explain general properties of sound transmission.
- Students will be able to identify anatomical structures in the auditory system and describe their functions.
