ENG 3110 - English Literature to 1500 Authors, works, and genres of Old and Middle English literature.
Requisites: ENG 250 or 2020 or 2 courses above ENG 2000 or Jr or Sr Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 seminar Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I College Credit Plus: Level 1 Learning Outcomes: - Demonstrate the prosody of Old English literature.
- Enable students to read the works of Chaucer in Middle English.
- Introduce resources for research in medieval literature.
- Introduce the literature written in England between the seventh and fifteenth centuries.
- Sharpen skills for literary analysis.
- Show the effect of the Norman Conquest (1066) on literary genres and languages.
