HLTH 4100 - Program Planning and Implementation in Community Health Addresses program planning and implementation of health programs. Focus is on how to conduct a health needs assessment in order to inform program planning and implementation.
Requisites: HLTH 3100 and 3300 and (Jr or Sr) Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to discuss the issues related to program implementation in various health settings.
- Students will be able to describe the steps involved in conducting a health needs assessment in various community settings.
- Students will be able to formulate program goals and objectives at the process, impact and outcome levels.
- Students will be able to describe the different models of program planning.
- Students will be able to apply an appropriate planning model(s) in the development of health promotion programs.
- Students will be able to describe a proposed health promotion program and implementation strategy based on identified community health needs and assets.
