INST 1600 - Interdisciplinary Survey of Latin America Introduction to Latin America through geography, politics, sociology, economics, literature, and art. Special emphasis given to 20th-century issues, problems, and developments.

- Students will be able to appreciate the reciprocal relationship between the colonial past and the place of Latin America in a globalized world.
- Students will demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the social, economic, and political histories of Latin America.
