PORT 4110 - Intensive Portuguese First semester of the third year of the Portuguese language sequence. The focus is on culture, film and literature. This class will also continue to refine written and spoken language skills through reinforcement of advanced grammar skills.
Requisites: PORT 3190 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Applies tools for literary analysis orally and in writing using advanced Portuguese grammar skills.
- Exchanges and evaluates individual textual interpretations orally and in writing.
- Exhibits sufficient proficiency in the written and spoken language to write a short textual analysis using MLA style and present and defend a textual interpretation orally in Portuguese.
- Interprets cultural nuances of literary texts in written and oral form.
- Understands and appreciates a variety of genres (including film) and literary traditions.
