EM 2500 - News Distribution Platforms Explores the process of newsgathering, writing, and reporting with an emphasis on new distribution platforms, including the Internet, mobile media and blogs.
Requisites: ENG 2800 or JOUR 1330 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Comprehension of the trend toward new media and the use of interactive tools such as blogging and twitter.
- Develop an understanding of news production through hands-on production of stories using various forms of technology and new media.
- Understand both similarities and differences between traditional and new media in regard to the process of newsgathering, writing, and reporting.
