EQU 1060 - Introduction to Western Riding Offers opportunity to experience tacking up, mounting, dismounting, and riding the western horse. Instruction on basic positioning and utilization of riding aids.
Credit Hours: 2 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 laboratory Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Basic positioning will be maintained throughout the walk and jog.
- Students will gain control over the horse at the walk and jog.
- Students will have an understanding of using their natural aids to steer and control the horse.
