EQU 2042 - Horse Show and Event Management Provides students with the necessary tools to organize any show, event, or clinic related to the equine industry. Major topics include planning, fundraising, financing, insurance, record keeping, and advertising. Utilization of principles to plan and operate a horse show and/or clinic for OU-Southern or associated organization.
Requisites: EQU 2031 and WARNING: No credit for both this course and the following (always deduct credit for first course taken): EQU 2043 Credit Hours: 2 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 1.0 lecture, 2.0 laboratory Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will understand the importance of marketing when promoting an event.
- Students will understand the importance of well managed equine competitions.
- Students will understand the pre-planning and organizational needs of a large equestrian event.
