EQU 2073 - Equine Reproduction Comprehensive study of equine reproduction stressing the anatomy and physiology of the stallion and mare and methods of breeding, including artificial insemination, and foaling.
Requisites: EQU 1010 and 1070 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. - To be acquainted with the reproductive anatomy of the stallion and the mare.
- To gain an understanding of the mare’s estrus cycle and how it can be manipulated.
- To learn the different equine breeding methods such as natural, AI, and embryo transfer.
