Program Overview

The environmental health science program teaches the public health skills for prevention of disease through the management of water, food, land, chemical, radiation, and other environmental factors. The curriculum offers a solid foundation in physical and biological sciences, plus hands-on experience in the field using modern equipment and techniques to analyze air and water quality, noise and environmental stressors, food quality, and contaminants of all types.

Opportunities Upon Graduation

Career opportunities in environmental health and safety are diverse and many. Graduates work in industry, corporations, insurance companies, food establishments, research facilities and governmental agencies. Many find employment in health care settings, including hospitals, laboratories, or public health departments. Still more options exist in the field of education or with public utilities, natural resource departments, consulting firms, and hazardous waste companies.
