QBA 1721 - Business Analytics I for Nonmajors The course introduces students to descriptive and inferential analytics. Students critically analyze business problems and develop high-quality information designs that inform and support management decisions using software tools such as Excel and Tableau. Topics include the organization of data, central tendency and dispersion, estimation and hypothesis testing, and linear regression. Students learn to choose the proper analysis and present the results using effective information designs.
Requisites: Not COB except BS6108/BS6110, BS6111/BS6109, AA5006/AA5030; PL2 or MATH 1200 or MATH 1321, or MATH 1500 or MATH 2500 or PSY 1110. WARNING: no credit if taken after QBA 1720. - Students will be able to merge, sort, organize, and compute data from multiple sources to assist in decision-making.
- Students will be able to use software commonly used in business to conduct statistical analyses.
- Students will be able to critically assess business scenarios to select and apply data analysis techniques.
- Students will be able to use, analyze, and interpret various forms of data to make business decisions.
