SW 4922 - Field Seminar II In the second of two-semester sequence, students integrate practice experiences with academic content utilizing a variety of in-class and out-of-class activities and assignments and demonstrate a variety of social work skills. Coordinates with a practice class and with a field practicum. Requires students apply an understanding of social work theory, knowledge, skills, and values and ethics, as well as the model and guidelines of generalist practice. Students integrate and apply knowledge from their entire social work educational preparation. Content related to all of the social work competencies is represented in the course, and selected practice behaviors will be emphasized through a variety of assignments and activities.
Requisites: SW 4801 and 4921 and 4923 and (4802 and 4924 concurrent) Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 seminar Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to apply knowledge of personal values and beliefs toward development of ability to be cross-culturally informed and responsive in practice.
- Students will be able to apply generalist practice principles to field placement experiences.
- Students will be able to critique their practice skills and experiences to increase understanding of anti-racist practices, racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion and the systems in which the concepts reside.
- Students will be able to analyze their performance in a professional setting, to identify challenges in an interprofessional context, and to apply strategies to meet those challenges.
- Students will be able to critique their application of social work values and ethics in field practicum.
- Students will be able to describe the requirements to obtain a social work license in Ohio.
