UC 4610 - General Studies Capstone Seminar for Bachelor of General Studies seniors that examines opportunities, challenges, and issues of the 21st- century workforce and issues relevant to post-graduation success. Students engage in self-assessment, reflection, and analysis of the degree program and develop knowledge of job search strategies and professionalism.
Requisites: Bachelor of General Studies major & Senior Credit Hours: 3 OHIO BRICKS: Capstone: Capstone or Culminating Experience Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 seminar Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to critically state, describe, and consider issues related to seeking employment and marketing their degree, through practical application
- Students will be able to describe job negotiation skills.
- Students will be able to reflect on the progress and process of their college education and how it has prepared them for life and work.
- Students will able to research issues related to life after college, including professionalism, ethics, citizenship, and continued life-long learning.
- Students will be able to utilize feedback from their instructor and classmates to revise job search and/or graduate school documents to create a professional portfolio.
- Students will be able to analyze the importance of clear and consistent communication in professional settings.
