EDCS 508 - Poverty, Education, and International Development

Interdisciplinary course focusing on poverty in African, Asian, and Latin American societies and the uses of education, including nonformal education, adult education, and literacy programs, to promote rural development. Problems in planning and implementation, and the social impact of intervention will be explored.
