AAS 2540 - History of Injustice in the United States Designed to give a socio-legal-historical perspective respecting the patterns of injustice in various areas of African American life. American Blacks are, of course, not the only victims of racism/injustice, but in the past they have been - by far - the largest and the most active of the country’s minorities and thus the appropriate focus for review of the law and injustice.
Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - The students will be able to analyze the role of the US courts in the struggle against injustice.
- The students will be able to explain the impact that the denial of human and civil rights had on shaping the system of justice in the U.S.
- The students will be able to understand the historical and legal origins of injustices of perpetrator against African Americans and other people of color in the United States.
