CE 3110 - Route Engineering Horizontal and vertical curves, geometric design of highways, and earth-work distribution.
Requisites: CE 2100 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to construct roadway cross-sections.
- Students will be able to determine horizontal sight distance and horizontal curve alignment.
- Students will be able to determine vertical sight distance and vertical curve alignment.
- Students will be able to identify elements of roadway design.
- Students will be able to perform basic intersection and interchange designs.
- Students will be introduced to basics of pavement structural design.
- Students will be introduced to basics of roadway drainage design.
- Students will understand the super-elevation theory.
