DANC 2010 - Dance Technique II Modern


A continuation of materials learned in Dance 1010. Students will hone their understanding of modern dance movement in relation to space, time, and energy/effort with increased awareness of rhythm, musicality, and movement phrasing. Movement materials and kinesthetic concepts will be more advanced and built upon the foundational elements of Dance 1010. Live dance performances and class movement projects form the basis of class discussion of dance as an art form.

Requisites: DANC 1010
Credit Hours: 1.5
Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 3.0 hours.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 studio
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:
  • Accurately reproduce movement in space, rhythm, and dynamic qualities.
  • Develop physical strength, flexibility, and co-ordination.
  • Improvise and choreograph utilizing basic tools of movement exploration.
  • Students will understand correct body alignment.
